Byline: Jim Inghram Daily News Staff Writer

A four-month search ended Tuesday night when Moorpark College Moorpark College is a California-state funded community college located on a 134 acre (542,000 m²) property reclining on a hill in Moorpark, a town in Ventura County, California.  selected Sean Roche as the new head coach for men's soccer.

Roche, who has coached at Buena High in Ventura for 19 years and has assisted at Cal Lutheran University for 16 years, replaces Frank Parodi.

``I am excited at the chance to work with the kind of athlete I've always been associated with,'' Roche said. ``There is an opportunity for us to encourage these players to come to a good school and continue their education and to recognize that there is still a chance to enjoy a good level of soccer.''

Roche takes over a program that has seen a declining level of success the past few seasons.

The Moorpark athletics department feels that Roche can reverse this trend.

``We probably have gotten one of the finest coaches in Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. He brings an extensive background in coaching at the high school level and the university level and commands great respect in the soccer community, specifically in Ventura County.''
