MOODY'S RELEASES PUBLICATION ON SINGLE FAMILY HOUSING PROGRAMS
NEW YORK, May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Moody's Investors Service has released its second annual publication reviewing all single family housing programs issued by state housing finance agencies. Containing 350 pages, "State Housing Finance Agencies: Single Family Programs -- A National Review" includes both general and specific information on each of the 48 state agencies currently active in the single family housing market. The book also contains programmatic data collected quarterly by Moody's on the 180 single family issues that are currently rated.
According to Peter Tommaney, vice president and manager of the asset-backed finance group, "The report is part of Moody's continued commitment to providing timely information on state and local governments that issue municipal debt. We are pleased to present this expanded second annual edition as a result of the positive response to last year's publication. This response attests to the strong need in the housing sector of the market for critical information on financial condition and portfolio performance." Moody's plans to continue publishing the book annually.
The report contains an overview description of each state HFA, its financial characteristics, the portfolio performance of the agency's programs, and state highlights that explore the economic and real estate trends that have an effect on housing and bond ratings. Following the agency overviews are program data pages that contain brief analytic highlights and various portfolio, financial and legal information for each program. This year's report also features an overview of the housing industry and the role of the state housing agencies, a comparative section with key statistics and rankings for each agency and bond program, and a special economic report on the housing industry.
