It raises money for charities and nonprofit groups in eastern Ventura County. F&B is typically the widely accepted abbreviation for "Food and Beverage," which is the sector/industry that specializes in the conceptualization, the making of, and delivery of foods. , dancing and contests for costumes, stein-holding and beer-drinking, Oktoberfest is being held for the second year at Underwood Family Farms, which provides an extra fall harvest dimension to the event. ``The farm setting is perfect for the tradition of Oktoberfest, and it offers more activities for the family, for people of all ages,'' said Mary-Catherine McBride, chairwoman of the event. She said there were 8,000 people at the event last year, when attendance might have been reduced by nearby brush fires. This year, organizers are preparing for as many as 12,000 people and plan to have much more food available. ``It's a great venue for Oktoberfest,'' said Ragnar Storm-Larsen, a Rotary Club member who has been active in the event since it began 20 years ago. ``Everybody has a good time there. ... It's really exciting to see the kids having so much fun.''
