MONMOUTH CAPITAL CORPORATION COMPLETES CHANGE FROM INVESTMENT COMPANY STATUS TO OPERATING COMPANY

 EATONTOWN, NJ, Aug. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Eugene W. Landy, president of Monmouth Capital Corporation, announced that the company is no longer a Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) under the Small Business Investment Company Act of 1958. In addition to completing the surrender of its SBIC license, the company has also obtained an order from the Securities and Exchange Commission declaring that it is no longer an investment company. Monmouth Capital Corporation's last year as an investment company was for the year ended March 31, 1993.
 Mr. Landy stated that the company would now pursue real estate related activities. Monmouth Capital Corporation intends to expand its capital base and to begin property acquisitions in the current year.
 On July 1, 1993, the board of directors declared a $.23 per share annual dividend payable Dec. 15, 1993 to shareholders of record Nov. 15, 1993.
