 MOLTEN METAL TECHNOLOGY EXPANDS KNOW-HOW
WALTHAM, Mass., Aug. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Molten Metal Technology,

Inc. announces its recent acquisition of assets from Swedish-based Interproject Services AB and Interproject Process Teknic AB. Interproject, worldwide leaders in coal gasification, developed its process at MEFOS, the Swedish Metallurgical Research Institute, and was facilitated by Japan's Nippon Steel and Sweden's NuTech, an arm of the government designed to promote new technology.
Interproject has spent $22 million over the past decade pioneering coal gasification, using a unique sealed and pressurized molten metal bath. Molten Metal Technology's Catalytic Extraction Processing (CEP) is a revolutionary patented process that uses a molten metal bath to synthesize valuable products from industrial wastes and byproducts.
Acquisition of Interproject's research results and intellectual property gives Molten Metal Technology a significant R & D boost and enhances its patent position for processing a wider range of materials for customers in a wider range of industries. Interproject's key scientific personnel have been retained as consultants to Molten Metal Technology, to aid in the commercialization of CEP for diverse markets over the next four years.
