MOBILECOMM ANNOUNCES TEST OF NEW HIGH SPEED PAGING PROTOCOL

JACKSON, Miss., June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- MobileComm announced today that it will begin testing Motorola's new FLEX high speed paging protocol technology in Atlanta and Jackson.
This new technology will allow numeric and alphanumeric messages and data transference to be sent at 6400 bits per second.
FLEX protocol technology will significantly increase the number of users per radio frequency, improve battery life in wireless devices and will help expand wireless service offerings such as electronic mail, information services, the updating of personal calendars to pagers, and personal organizers, portable computers or Personal Digital Assistants (PDAS).
Dr. Alain Briancon, MobileComm's executive director of Product and Service Development, said: "MobileComm is excited to be playing a pioneering role with Motorola in implementing this important new wireless enabling technology. As the paging market continues to expand, we think FLEX technology will position MobileComm to be a leader in important new growth areas."
"We are gratified to see MobileComm's early and continuing participation in bringing this important new technology to reality in the U.S.," Bob Schwendeman, Motorola's VP and senior member of the Technical Staff instrumental in developing FLEX technology, said. "As FLEX technology becomes fully operational, MobileComm will be better able to serve its customers and will be able to participate in exciting new wireless business service offerings as they emerge."
