MMM alumni tell of career growth.


Last fall, ACPE ACPE Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education

ACPE American College of Physician Executives
ACPE Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc.
 conducted a survey of 500 Masters of Medical Management graduates to find out information about their educational and career advancement since graduation Graduation is the action of receiving or conferring an academic degree or the associated ceremony. The date of event is often called degree day. The event itself is also called commencement, convocation or invocation. . Just over 250 returned the survey, and the results indicate career growth and success in transitioning up the management ladder.

Significant data coming from the survey includes:

* Just over half (56 percent) have had at least one position change since graduating, most of whom (62 percent) didn't need to relocate re·lo·cate  
v. re·lo·cat·ed, re·lo·cat·ing, re·lo·cates

To move to or establish in a new place: relocated the business.

v.intr.
 to a new city to make that transition.

* The most popular job titles for respondents In the context of marketing research, a representative sample drawn from a larger population of people from whom information is collected and used to develop or confirm marketing strategy.  are Medical Director (19 percent), Chief Medical Officer (18 percent), Vice President of Medical Affairs (9 percent), Department Chair (8 percent), and Chief Executive Officer (5 percent). Quality management, physician management, conflict resolution and patient care are the most common areas of responsibilities for the survey respondents.

* Nearly 5 percent report earning an additional $100,000 or more after receiving their MMM MMM Myeloid metaplasia with myelofibrosis, see there . Almost half (42 percent) are receiving base salaries of between $250,000-$499,000 and 4 percent are earning over $500,000.

* Managing problem behavior/conflicts, strategic planning Strategic planning is an organization's process of defining its strategy, or direction, and making decisions on allocating its resources to pursue this strategy, including its capital and people. , implementing quality initiatives and influencing and motivating change are the management competencies that they report the most significant increases in skill and confidence since graduation.

* Almost one quarter of respondents (23 percent) received 100 percent tuition reimbursement Reimbursement

Payment made to someone for out-of-pocket expenses has incurred.
 from their employer while a little more than a third (36.3 percent) paid entirely on their own.

* While the most frequent age range of the MMM graduates continues to be 51-55 years old, the range of ages varies widely from 36 to 67 years old. One significant item to note is that the number of younger graduates has doubled since the last survey was conducted in 2001.
