MKDA completes gut renovation of company's Park Ave. space.

MKDA, a premier space planning and interior architecture firm servicing landlords, brokers and businesses throughout the New York tri-state area, has gut renovated 40,000 s/f of office and showroom space at One Park Avenue on behalf of CHF Industries, a leading distributor of bed, bath and window products to Retailers.

According to John F. Giuseffi, R.A., a senior architect with MKDA, the 20,000 s/f headquarters and its 20,000 s/f showroom were completed in three phases to accommodate employees that were occupying the space throughout the gut renovation. "CHF hired us in conjunction with its long-term lease renewal to shake out the rug and redefine the company's corporate culture and showroom, all while CHF continued its operations."

MKDA draped the company's elevator bank with crisp white flooring and walls accented with metallic elevator doors, and pin-dot spotlights resembling starlight on the ceiling and sidewalls. Glass doors lead to reception where white flooring and a stainless steel receptionist's desk are accented by deep red walls and bright green tufts of live grass.

The CHF offices were outfitted with modular furniture units that can move and expand as the company grows. Carpet tiles accented with bursts of red geometric designs accent the predominately white workspace. The employee cafeteria features white stone flooring, stainless steel tables and snack bar with white chairs and red accent stools. The white walls are painted with a grass motif replicating the tufts of live grass dotting the tabletops. CHF's showroom was blanketed in neutral colors to create an unobtrusive backdrop for the company's products. It features bamboo plank flooring, white walls and semi-transparent tan dividers.
