 MITSUBISHI MOTORS STAYS STRONG IN WEAK ECONOMY;
 PASSENGER CAR SALES UP 41 PERCENT FOR NOVEMBER
 CYPRESS, Calif., Dec. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America Inc. (MMSA) today announced passenger car sales of 15,746 units during the month of November, representing a 41 percent increase over the same period last year and a strong expression of consumer interest in Mitsubishi products despite the nation's recessionary economy.
 "During a slow economic period when consumers are searching to gain the most value for their money, the Mitsubishi Galant 4-door Mirage have consistently proven themselves in the areas of quality, durability, fuel economy and overall value," said Kevin Ormes, vice president of sales for Mitsubishi Motors. Combined sales of both products for November reached nearly 8,000 units.
 In addition, Ormes noted continuing strong sales for the newly introduced Diamante luxury performance sedan and 3000GT grand touring sports car. "Due to the great demand for these products in the United States, dealers are successfully selling each allotment they receive," said Ormes.
 Sales of the domestically produced Eclipse and Mirage have risen 58 percent above the same period last year, reaching total year-to- date sales of 65,179 units.
 Ormes expects Mitsubishi's sales pace to continue to increase with this month's introdution of the all-new Montero sport/utility vehicle. The 1992 Montero has been completely redesigned to meet the needs of the upscale consumer and is expected to sell approximately 10,000 units during 1992 calendar year.
 Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America Inc. was established in 1982 by Mitsubishi Motors Corp., Tokyo, and markets a full line of subcompacts, compacts, sports coupes, grand touring sports cars, luxury performance sedans, sport wagons, light trucks and sport/utility vehicles.
