MITSUBISHI DEALER OPENS NEW SITE.

LANCASTER - A new auto dealership has opened in the Lancaster Auto Mall.

Lancaster Mitsubishi opened its own sales, service and parts operation on more than five acres at 1160 W. Motor Lane.

Lancaster Mitsubishi moved to the auto mall from the nearby Sierra Toyota facility. The move gives Sierra Toyota room to expand its operation and create a showroom for Scion sci·on

 Motorcars Inc. is the parent company of both Sierra Toyota and Lancaster Mitsubishi.

Lancaster redevelopment agency officials said the local expansion dovetails with a major push by Mitsubishi Motors Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (三菱自動車工業株式会社  . Nationally, Mitsubishi sales have increased by more than 80 percent in the past four years. The company introduced four new models in 2003.

Lancaster's redevelopment agency provided land for the move. The agency acquired the property in 1987 for $916,319, and officials said it is now worth $1.4 million. They said sales tax sales tax, levy on the sale of goods or services, generally calculated as a percentage of the selling price, and sometimes called a purchase tax. It is usually collected in the form of an extra charge by the retailer, who remits the tax to the government.  revenue generated by the dealership will make the land a good investment.
