MITSUBISHI'S NEW VS-4571 TABLE TOP BIG SCREEN TELEVISION -- THE MOST COMPACT PROJECTION TELEVISION AVAILABLE -- HITS SELECTED MARKETS

CYPRESS, Calif., Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Mitsubishi Electronics today announced that its newest television, the VS-4571 Table Top Big Screen, is now available in retail stores in select markets. The world's most compact projection television, the Table Top Big Screen features a 45-inch screen, weighs only 128 pounds, has a depth of 22 inches, and fits on the same size shelf as a 27-inch direct view television.
According to Jack Osborn, president of Consumer Electronics Group, "This new television is the big screen design of the future. In fact, we consider the Table Top the first in a new category of ultra compact televisions."
The Table Top Big Screen's extremely slim depth makes it ideal for placement in small rooms or apartments because it saves space, yet provides a large, high-quality image.
The new design is possible as a result of a complete optical reconfiguration, including a new shortened focal length lens, short length Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) and new electron gun.
Mitsubishi Black Tint Thin Fresnal screens also offer improved contrast and brightness, and give the Table Top Big Screen the sharpest, clearest picture, even in bright rooms.
The television also features high-end audio performance with Mitsubishi's new Crystal Dialogue speaker system and matrix surround sound.
The set is compatible with all other Mitsubishi components including high-fidelity VCRs, laser disc players and A/V receivers. It includes The ViewPoint II(TM) on screen operating system, as well as functions such as picture-in-picture and Active A/V network, which creates an intelligent link between the television and VCR.
Other Mitsubishi features include lock-the-channel, lock-the-TV, Picture-in-Picture with freeze and Super Quick View.
At a suggested retail price of $3,299, the Table Top Big Screen offers value, flexibility and Mitsubishi's high-quality picture.
The Consumer Electronics Group (CEG) of Mitsubishi Electronics America Inc. markets and sells a comprehensive line of premium quality direct view and projection televisions, home theater components and VCRs. The recognized innovator of big screen technology, Mitsubishi develops video products that lead the industry in performance, ease-of- use and system integration.
