MISSION ENERGY EXECUTIVE VP AND COO ROBERT EDGELL ELECTED TO COMPANY'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 IRVINE, Calif., May 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Robert M. Edgell, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Mission Energy Co., a subsidiary of SCEcorp, has been elected to the Mission Energy board of directors.
 Edgell joined Mission Energy at its inception in 1986. He oversees the company's business development and marketing activities and takes an active role in international development. He is also a director of the company's subsidiaries.
 Prior to joining Mission Energy, Edgell served in various engineering and management positions at Southern California Edison Co.
 SCEcorp is also the holding company for Southern California Edison (the electric utility serving most of Southern and Central California). Mission Energy has $2.1 billion in assets, and in 1992 earned $89 million. It has investment interests in 31 operating power production projects. Its share of the output of those projects totals 1,591 megawatts. Mission Energy also has 1,923 megawatts under construction or in development in four countries. The company is headquartered in Irvine and has 530 employees.
