MISS AMERICA TO GUEST ANCHOR FOR PARAMOUNT DOMESTIC TELEVISION'S ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT

 LOS ANGELES, Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Leanza Cornett, Miss America 1993, has been hired to serve as a guest anchor for one week for the Paramount Domestic Television entertainment news show "Entertainment Tonight," it was announced today by executive producer, Jim Van Messel.
 Cornett, 22, will co-anchor with John Tesh and substitute for Mary Hart, who will be vacationing the week of August 23-27. "Leanza has a unique talent with the television camera," said Van Messel. "And we are pleased to work with the Miss America Organization during Leanza's year of service."
 A communications major who has studied at Jacksonville University and Rollins College in Florida, Cornett won the Miss America title last September. She will crown her successor on Sept. 18, 1993 in Atlantic City, N.J.
 "We are honored that a highly reputable entertainment news series such as "Entertainment Tonight" recognizes the qualities of the women who enter the Miss America competition, and their potential to be -- as is Leanza Cornett -- a relevant role model for today's society," said Leonard Horn, chief executive officer of the Miss America Organization.
 Currently in its unprecedented 12th season, "Entertainment Tonight" is produced by Paramount Domestic Television in association with Cox Broadcasting. Jim Van Messel is executive producer.
