MILLIONS OK'D FOR AREA REPAIRS.

Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  County supervisors voted Tuesday to give as much as $74.1 million over 26 years to make road and sewer repairs in the area in Glendale where Disney's new Creative Campus is planned.

The Board of Supervisors unanimously passed a measure to allocate 60 percent of new revenue from the San Fernando Road San Fernando Road is a major street in the city and county of Los Angeles. It starts off in Castaic as The Old Road, passing through Santa Clarita and the Newhall Pass, where upon its intersection with Sierra Highway near the junction of the Golden State (I-5) and the  Corridor for such improvements over that period.

``Developing tree-lined streets, parkways and planted medians will result in creation of a magnet for high-tech and media operations that (will) provide jobs for our residents and maintain our economy,'' said Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich Michael Dennis Antonovich (born 1939 in Los Angeles, California) is a member of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors representing the Fifth District, which covers northern Los Angeles County, the Antelope, Santa Clarita, Pasadena, and parts of the San Fernando and San  in a statement. ``This action will promote private investments in the area by upgrading transportation, utilities and telecommunications systems.''

The board's action comes a day after the Glendale Planning Commission unanimously approved the project, sending it to the City Council for consideration next month.

The Grand Central Creative Campus, also called GC3, would include 6 million square feet of office space, sound stages and studio production facilities to house Walt Disney Imagineering. It is planned on 125 acres bordered by Western Avenue, the Golden State Freeway The Golden State Freeway is a north-south freeway running through Kern County and Los Angeles County, California. Originally built as U.S. Highway 99, it was re-signed as Interstate 5 in 1964. , Air Way and Flower Street.

The project is expected to mean $402 million in new revenue over the next 20 to 30 years to the city and the Glendale Unified School District The Glendale Unified School District is a school district based in Glendale, California, United States.

The school district serves the city of Glendale, portions of the city of La Cañada and the unincorporated communities of Montrose and La Crescenta.

Glendale city officials applauded the supervisor's action at the City Council meeting Tuesday.

``It's a real vote of confidence by the county and believe me, this doesn't happen very often,'' said City Manager Jim Starbird.

``This is a very significant action on their part.''

The council will hold a joint meeting with the Redevelopment Agency on Nov. 8.
