***FEDERAL CONTRACT COMPLIANCE***

We often deal with companies who just entering the federal market place or with companies who have never held contracts with agencies but who have worked as subcontractors. Although there are flow down clauses that are required to be flowed down to subcontractors, many vendors either fail to do so or have boiler-plate terms and conditions that are never really reviewed in detail by the sub.

One often over looked area is that of Affirmative Action affirmative action, in the United States, programs to overcome the effects of past societal discrimination by allocating jobs and resources to members of specific groups, such as minorities and women.  and when vendors must have formal plans in place. Depending on the size of your organization, and the volume of business you do with the government you may not need a formal plan, but most companies do. Any employer who has a total of $50,000 or more in government contracts and 50 or more employees must have a written affirmative action plan within 120 days after the start of a federal government contract In addition, a plan must be established for each of the firms establishments.

 requirements that apply to contracts even if a formal plan is not necessary. For example, any contractor or subcontractor One who takes a portion of a contract from the principal contractor or from another subcontractor.
