MILLER ACQUIRES HONDA : MOST FOREMAN EMPLOYEES RETAINED UNDER NEW OWNER.

The Miller Automotive Group in Van Nuys has taken over the franchise of neighbor Foreman Honda.

The nine-dealership Miller group, which sells Nissans, Infinitis, Mitsubishis, Toyotas and Kias, also purchased Foreman's remaining cars and parts for an undisclosed price.

Miller hired most - 30 to 40 - of Foreman's employees.

, chairman of Miller Automotive Group, said the company had not been happy with the sales performance of its Pontiac and Kia lines in Van Nuys and went after a Honda franchise.

Miller now sells Hondas out of the old Pontiac-Kia showroom, next door to Miller's Nissan store on Van Nuys Boulevard.

Marc Foreman, president of Klein Foreman Motors Inc., said the company sold the business to concentrate on other efforts. Foreman also runs a company that makes hardware tools and supplies.

``It was an opportunity that was win-win for everybody,'' he said.

Plans for the Foreman facility - at 5511 Van Nuys Blvd., a block away from Miller's dealerships - have not yet been determined.

But Foreman said the company will keep open the Honda body repair shop.

Miller Automotive is 47 years old. It began with a Van Nuys location in 1949, then moved to its present site on Van Nuys Boulevard in 1969.

The Van Nuys location sells Infiniti, Nissan, Honda and Mitsubishi.
