PRINCETON, N.J., Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Mikros Systems Corporation (NASDAQ: MKRS) has announced the award of a $500,000 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II contract from the U.S. Navy to develop systems for long-range communication between ships and submarines.

Mikros also received supplemental contract funding of $845,000 in September for continuation of advanced modem development for a government client.
Mikros Systems Corporation designs and manufactures digital communications and control systems for government and industrial markets.
