++ source code migrations from 32-bit PowerPC to 64-bit PowerPC-based platforms. Once migrated, applications can run in native PowerPC mode, gaining the flexibility and scalability intrinsic in the 64-bit platform.

"There are many important source code issues for 32-to-64 bit migrations that can go unnoticed until well into the testing cycle" said Gary R. Hook, Senior Technical Consultant, IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  PartnerWorld for Developers, pSeries. "MigraTEC's 64Express to PowerPC focuses attention on all the issues that must be addressed prior to testing. In our Austin, Texas pSeries porting lab, we recently migrated approximately 27,000 lines of C/C++ code per day to 64-bit mode on AIX (Advanced Interactive eXecutive) IBM's Unix-based operating system which runs on its Intellistation workstations and pSeries, p5, iSeries and i5 server families.  using the 64Express product. Ultimately, we had a 64-bit application that was able to pass the application's automated test suite after the first build of the ported code. Based on our experience, MigraTEC 's product provides the potential for IBM customers to employ the power of 64-bit computing on AIX with less porting effort and greater productivity than conventional techniques like lint lint - A Unix C language processor which carries out more thorough checks on the code than is usual with C compilers.

Lint is named after the bits of fluff it supposedly picks from programs.
, grep or a compiler."

"We've been working closely with IBM's Rapid Port Center to tailor our migration technology for 64-bit PowerPC users," said MigraTEC CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  Curtis Overstreet. "Our new 64Express to PowerPC product can help IBM's customers move quickly to the superior performance of the IBM 64-bit PowerPC architecture. In addition, our MigraSUITE toolset includes 32Direct Solaris to AIX for customers wanting to move 32-bit or 64-bit applications from Solaris to 64-bit AIX 5L on the PowerPC."

"With our ten years of experience in supporting large-scale migration of applications, MigraTEC's core technologies continue to advance," Overstreet added. "Our patented code analysis makes it possible for us to rapidly deploy new migration products, such as 64Express to PowerPC, to help our strategic partners meet their customers' needs."
