MIGLIAZZA NAMED MANAGING DIRECTOR OF WITCO ITALY

 NEW YORK, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Mario Migliazza has been named managing director of Witco Italy, a wholly owned subsidiary of Witco International. Mr. Migliazza will oversee administrative operations, including sales and marketing responsibilities. In addition to the sales of thermoplastic resins and extruded products produced at the Gambolo, Italy facility, Witco Italy is the selling agent for diverse products produced by Witco Holland, Witco France, and Witco GmbH, such as surfactants, polymer chemicals, alkyl aluminums, tin intermediates and petroleum specialties.
 Gerald Katz, group vice president and senior managing director, responsible for international chemical operations from the Witco Frankfurt office, said, "Witco's strength in Europe was increased dramatically with the 1992 acquisition of businesses from Schering and we are very pleased to have Mr. Migliazza, with his years of experience and contacts in the industries we serve, step into this new position."
 Mr. Migliazza, who joined Witco in 1973, has a diploma in chemistry from the Istituto Ettore Molinari of Milano, Italy, and over 25 years' experience in sales of surfactants and petroleum specialties.
