MICROSOFT RELEASES NT SERVICES FOR UNIX PACK.


Microsoft Corp has now released the NT Services for Unix pack it promised back in July (CI No 3,4054). The Microsoft Windows See Windows.

(operating system) Microsoft Windows - Microsoft's proprietary window system and user interface software released in 1985 to run on top of MS-DOS. Widely criticised for being too slow (hence "Windoze", "Microsloth Windows") on the machines available then.
 NT Services for Unix Add-On Pack uses technology from Intergraph Corp and Mortice Kern See MKS.  Systems Inc to help simplify interoperability The capability of two or more hardware devices or two or more software routines to work harmoniously together. For example, in an Ethernet network, display adapters, hubs, switches and routers from different vendors must conform to the Ethernet standard and interoperate with each other.  between NT and the Unix installed base. Intergraph provides Network File System software, and Mortice Kern Unix-like utilities. The pack will cost $150, and should be available within the next four to six weeks.
