MICRONICS ANNOUNCES MANAGEMENT CHANGES

 FREMONT, CA, Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Micronics Computers Inc. (NASDAQ: MCRN) today announced that Chuang Li has been named to the new position of vice president of design engineering for the company, effective immediately. Li was previously director of systems engineering for Micronics. The company further announced that Ming Ming Hsu has been promoted to director of technical services, also effective immediately.
 "We believe it is important to build a strong infrastructure to support the company's pattern of rapid growth," stated Steve Kitrosser, chairman and chief executive officer of Micronics. "Two of the most critical areas for our company are product engineering and customer technical services -- our intention is to ensure that these areas continue to be among our greatest strengths. Chuang and Ming have more than proven their capabilities, and we look forward to their continuing contributions to the company's growth."
 In his new capacity as vice president, Li is responsible for the hardware and software design of Micronics' system boards, peripherals and proprietary ASIC designs. As director of technical services, Hsu is responsible for the compatibility testing of Micronics products with other vendors' systems and add-on cards, and the company's new Novell certification program. He will also oversee the technical support group. Hsu was previously the manager of technical services at the company.
 Micronics Computers Inc. is an industry leader in providing high- quality advanced system boards for high-performance personal computers sold by OEMs, distributors and value-added resellers. A system board contains the microprocessor, supporting logic circuitry and memory components that form the core of a personal computer. The company sells primarily to direct marketers and other marketing-oriented personal computer vendors.
