MICROLOG CORPORATION ANNOUNCES SETTLEMENT WITH VMX, INC., AND DYTEL CORPORATION

GERMANTOWN, Md., May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Microlog Corporation (NASDAQ-NMS: MLOG) announced today that Microlog, along with its subsidiaries Microlog Corporation of Maryland and Genesis Electronics Corporation, have reached a settlement with VMX, Inc., and Dytel Corporation to resolve litigation over disputed royalty obligations under a voice mail license and alleged infringement of certain patents for automatic call processing technology. The lawsuit had been pending in federal court in Dallas since February 1991.
As a result of the settlement, Microlog will make certain payments to VMX and Dytel, and Microlog's products, including its "VCS 3500," "CallStar" and "CINDI" lines, will be fully licensed under VMX's and Dytel's voice mail and automatic call processing patents. Microlog does not expect the settlement to
have a material effect on the company's operating results. "We are very pleased to have settled this litigation and put these matters behind us," stated Richard A. Thompson, Microlog's president and chief operating officer.
Microlog Corporation, headquartered in Germantown, designs, manufacturers, sells and services voice processing systems. Its products find wide application in government, health care, utility, media/entertainment and other markets, and are sold through a direct sales force, by distributors and by
value added resellers. A subsidiary, Old Dominion Systems, Inc., of Maryland, provides technical analysis and support services to the U.S. government and prime contractors.
