MICROLOG AWARDED CONTRACT FROM STATE OF DELAWARE DIVISION OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

GERMANTOWN, Md., June 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Microlog Corporation (NASDAQ-NMS: MLOG) announced today that it was awarded a contract from the state of Delaware, Division of Emergency Management and the Delaware State Police for Microlog's Emergency Voice Response System (EVR). The EVR will be installed at the Delaware State Police Headquarters in Dover, Del. The funds for this project were made available through the Delaware Radiological Emergency Response Program financed by Public Service Electric and Gas (PSE&G) and Artificial Island Nuclear Generating Stations.
The eight port EVR 1000 will provide the agency with an automated procedure to contact and staff emergency personnel in minutes of an emergency, test or drill. "Microlog's EVR System uses a flexible, easily expandable architecture that can be tailored to meet unique customer requirements," said Dennis Grundy, Microlog vice president of marketing. The EVR System contacts personnel based on programmable calling priorities. Depending on the time and day of the week the system can be programmed to call different phone numbers for each individual.
Designed with a multiple CPU network, the EVR can activate a paging system to contact key personnel. The Microlog system receives calls from paged personnel recording their fitness for duty and estimated time of arrival.
The EVR system has extensive reporting capabilities that can be faxed to remote locations on demand or at specified intervals. Security is built into the EVR to guard against false or accidental operation. Multiple classes of security can be created with different levels assigned to individuals and groups. The system can be activated with validated passwords via a touch-tone phone or from any remote or local terminal.
James Hoffman, director of the Delaware Division of Emergency Management, said: "We are very excited about Microlog's EVR 1000 System's capabilities. We believe this system will significantly improve our capability to rapidly alert and notify key emergency responders during emergencies requiring state-wide response. This in turn will give us more time to initially react to and manage emergency situations."
