 MICROCOM ACQUIRES CLIENT SERVER TECHNOLOGIES, INC.;
 EXPANDS STRATEGIC PRESENCE IN PC CONNECTIVITY MARKETS
 NORWOOD, Mass., April 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Microcom, Inc. (NASDAQ: MNPI) today announced that it has acquired Client Server Technologies, Inc. (CST), a LAN management software development company located in New Rochelle, N.Y.
 With funding from Microcom, CST has developed LANlord(R), an integrated system that provides centralized management and support for PC network resources and users across the enterprise.
 "The acquisition of CST and LANlord gives Microcom a strategic advantage in PC connectivity markets," stated James M. Dow, Microcom president and CEO. "In the tradition of innovative technology from Microcom, LANlord is substantially different from existing LAN management products. We believe LANlord provides CIOs, network managers and LAN administrators with the architecture and tools required for cost-effective management of the fastest growing area of technology investment in their companies, namely PC workstations connected to LANs."
 Microcom's client server technologies group will be located in Yonkers, N.Y. Emerick Woods, founder and former president of CST has been named vice president and general manager for the group. Terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
 Microcom, Inc. designs, manufactures and markets software and hardware solutions for PC connectivity via LANs and dial-up access. The corporation is headquartered in Norwood, Mass, with offices in Wilmington, Del.; Danbury, Conn. (Relay Products Group); Durham, N.C. (Utilities Products Group); Yonkers, N.Y. (Client Server Technologies Group); Caguas, Puerto Rico; sales offices across the United States; and international offices in France, Hong Kong, Singapore and the United Kingdom.
