MICOM announces major price reduction on data voice integration networking products; MICOM cuts prices 20 to 40 percent on its multimedia integration products.

SIMI VALLEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 2, 1996--MICOM Communications Corp. announced reduced prices on its entire family of network integration products.

MICOM has cut list prices in North and South America by 20 to 40 percent on its Marathon 3K, 5KT, 20K Integration Multiplexers, award-winning NetRunner 75E Integration Router, and voice and local area network (LAN) router modules.

MICOM's Marathon and NetRunner integrate remote data, voice, fax, and local area LAN traffic over public frame relay and private line networks. The products feature MICOM's standards-based ClearVoice technology which delivers toll-quality voice over 8 Kbps of wide area network (WAN) bandwidth.

ClearVoice combines the International Telecommunications Union's (ITU) G.729 8 Kbps voice compression standard, fax demodulation, silence suppression, and forward error correction to maximize WAN bandwidth. Marathon and NetRunner integrate communications over a 9.6 Kbps to T1/E1 connection.

As an example of the list price reductions, MICOM's single channel digital voice module (VM1) was $1,400 and is now just $800. The list price on MICOM's award-winning NetRunner 75E was reduced by 20 percent to $1,950. Similar price reductions have been made across the family of Marathon Integration Multiplexers and NetRunner Integration Routers. All price reductions are effective immediately.
