MICOM and AT&T enter into private label agreement for data and voice compression systems; MICOM to manufacture data voice integration multiplexers for AT&T.

SIMI VALLEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 26, 1996--MICOM Communications Corp. (NASDAQ:MICM) announced it has entered into an agreement with AT&T that calls for MICOM to provide private-labeled version of MICOM's Marathon 3K, 5K, 20K data/voice integration multiplexers.

AT&T will display and demonstrate these new products by sending data and voice over frame relay at the ComNet Exhibition in Washington D.C. Jan. 30-Feb. 1, 1996.

The new AT&T models 300, 500 and 2000 Integration Multiplexers are designed to meet the connectivity needs of all corporate networks. They are especially well suited to integrate data, voice, fax and LAN traffic over a single WAN connection. Networks can be designed with one to hundreds of remote sites.

The products provide voice/fax channels with compression from four to 16 Kbps, sync and async legacy data channels and LAN connectivity. LAN and data are also compressed. Aggregate bandwidths can range from 9.6 Kbps to T1/E1. The units provide excellent voice quality and feature robust functionality over many services, including frame relay, satellite, ISDN and analog and digital leased lines.
