MICHIGAN STATE UTILITY WORKERS COUNCIL REACTS TO GUILTY PLEA
 OF FORMER PRESIDENT DALE NEIL
LANSING, Mich., May 21 /PRNewswire/ -- In response to inquiries, the Michigan State Utility Workers Council today issued the following statement regarding the public reports of the conviction by guilty plea of former Council President Dale Neil:
"When allegations of wrongdoing first came to the attention of council officers in 1989, internal union charges were promptly brought by these officers against Neil," said MSUWC President Bernard Gray. "After a trial, he was found guilty of charges leading to his removal from office by union members that same year."
"This guilty plea now brings to an end this isolated, but sad and unfortunate incident," continued Gray. "We must now put this episode behind us and move forward with the important business of the council in representing its members, the employees of Consumers Power."
