MICHIGAN BELL ANNOUNCES $2,500 'TELESERVICER' AWARD

DETROIT, Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Michigan Bell's Small Business Markets group announced today creation of a $2,500 Teleservicer of the Year award to recognize annually an outstanding small entrepreneur.
"We're searching for outstanding entrepreneurs whose achievements in the area of teleservicing have significantly increased their company's growth, revenue and customer satisfaction," said Mark Doman, general manager of Michigan Bell's Small Business Markets group.
Nominations for the award are open to any owner or manager of a small business that has been in existence since Jan. 1, 1991, and that will have used Michigan Bell's Call Power free consultation service as of May 1 of this year.
A "small business" is any company with fewer than 100 employees. Self-nominations are encouraged.
"Our free Call Power consultations help small companies understand how they can use the telephone as a strategic tool in serving customers and improving profitability -- something larger companies have been doing for a long time," Doman said.
Doman said small businesses are increasingly important to the state's economy and Michigan Bell's financial vitality. "We can prosper only if our small business customers are thriving," he said.
Nominating forms must be received no later than Oct. 1. They can be obtained at Call Power executive briefings or by dialing a toll-free phone number -- 1-800-322-4300.
