MGM ANNOUNCES LEGAL PROMOTIONS -- THREE TO VICE PRESIDENT; TWO TO SENIOR COUNSEL
SANTA MONICA, Calif., Aug. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. (MGM) today announced several promotions in its legal department -- Helen Jorda, Jill R. Lerner and Patricia V. Mayer were promoted to Vice President, while Greer C. Bosworth and Kelli Benston Tabb were named Senior Counsel. The announcement was made by William Jones, Executive Vice President and General Counsel. "We are extremely pleased to recognize the accomplishments of these outstanding professionals by well deserved promotions. They represent collectively a remarkable breadth of talent and expertise in several areas of the Company's in-house legal practice," said Jones. Jorda has served as Senior Counsel for MGM since she joined the Company in 1992. Previously, she was a Litigation Associate at Dewey Ballantine in both New York and Los Angeles. She clerked for the Honorable David V. O'Brien of the U.S. District Court of the Virgin Islands in St. Croix. She holds a juris doctor degree from New York Law School and a bachelor of science degree from Boston University. She also attended the University of Feiburg in West Germany. Lerner, Senior Counsel at MGM since 1991, was previously General Attorney for Litigation and Employment Practices and Labor Relations at Capital Cities/ABC Inc. in both New York and Los Angeles. Previously, she was an associate at the law firm of Pitney, Hardin, Kipp and Szuch in New Jersey. She earned a juris doctor degree from The National Law Center, George Washington University and a bachelor of arts degree from Queens College, City University of New York. Mayer re-joined MGM as Senior Counsel in 1992 having previously served as Associate Production Counsel at MGM from 1989 to 1990. In the interim, Mayer was with TriStar Pictures, Inc. where she served as Production Counsel. Previously she was an associate with the law firm of Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro. She is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles where she earned a juris doctor degree and a bachelor of arts degree. She also holds a master of arts degree from Cambridge University, Hughes Hall College. Bosworth has served as Corporate Counsel for MGM since 1992. Previously, she was an associate with the Los Angeles office of Bryan Cave and also served as a Judicial Clerk to the Honorable A. Leon Higginbotham, Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals, Third Circuit in Philadelphia. She received a juris doctor degree from Stanford Law School, a master of public administration from the University of Baltimore, and a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Maryland. Prior to joining MGM in 1991 as Litigation Counsel, Tabb held associate positions with the laws firms of Hill, Wynne, Troop & Meisinger and Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker. She holds a juris doctor degree from Loyola Law School and a bachelor of arts degree from the University of California at Los Angeles.
