(Canadian Dealing Network- MGIS), the world's leading provider of photo and video software for PC users, today announced that Sony Electronics is shipping MGI's award-winning PhotoSuite with its current line of VAIO (Video Audio Integrated Operation) Sony's trade name for its desktop and laptop PCs. In mid-1998, Sony introduced its 505G series of subnotebooks that were the first in ultra-thin Pentium portables. (R) personal computers featuring Intel Pentium Processors with MMX technology. MGI PhotoSuite has been optimized for Intel's MMX technology to take full advantage of Sony's multimedia functions including Web publishing, the easy exchange of images and graphic files via e-mail, and seamless connectivity to digital imaging devices such as Sony's DSC-FI Digital Still Camera and DPP-M55 Color Printer. The Sony shipment is an extension to an earlier worldwide licensing agreement announced in April.

"MGI's latest PhotoSuite allows our customers to be immediately more creative with photos on their Sony PCs." Sony's latest desktops feature Intel(R) 200MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc.  (PCV-130) and 233MHz (PCV-150) processors with MMX technology and come with 4MB of video memory, which enables high resolution 24-bit digital imaging applications.

Sony Chooses MGI PhotoSuite Optimized for Intel's MMX (MultiMedia EXtensions) A set of 57 additional instructions built into the Pentium MMX chip for improved multimedia and modem performance by performing mathematical operations on multiple sets of data at the same time (see SIMD).
