``Lucha libre has a very big fan base,'' fairgrounds spokeswoman Wendy Bozigian said. ``People are very excited.''

Similar to professional wrestling in the United States, performers portray either good (technicos) or bad (rudos) competitors. Most luchadores wrestle in colorful costumes and masks.

The recently released movie ``Nacho Libre,'' starring Jack Black as a friar- turned-luchador, has helped to build excitement for Saturday's lucha libre showcase, Bozigian added.

Sponsored by World Power Wrestling/National Wrestling Alliance, Saturday's show starts at 7 p.m. at the fairgrounds, 2551 W. Ave. H.

Secondary bouts will feature Super Gabacho, La Migra and Black Puma, among others.
