 METRO AIR ANNOUNCES RESULTS
DALLAS, Nov. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Metro Airlines, Inc.

(NASDAQ-NMS: MAIRC), today announced that traffic from its continuing American Eagle operations at Dallas/Fort Worth in October 1991 increased over the comparable operations a year ago. However, the company's total traffic for the month declined substantially from year-earlier levels due to the shutdown of Metro Express in Atlanta, the shut-down and subsequent sale of Metro Air Northeast, and sale of the company's Caribbean operations, all of which have occurred in 1991.
From continuing operations at Dallas/Fort Worth for the month of October 1991, Metro flew 33.3 million revenue passenger miles, up 5.6 percent from 31.6 million a year ago. A revenue passenger mile is the equivalent of flying one paying passenger one mile. The company flew 50.5 million available seat miles in October 1991, up 1.3 percent from 49.8 million in October 1990. Load factor, or percentage of seats filled with paying passengers, was 66.1 percent compared to 63.4 percent in October 1990. The company carried 144,025 passengers in October 1991, an increase of 3.4 percent from 139,304 in the same month a year ago.
In its D/FW operations for the ten months ended Oct. 31, 1991, Metro flew 314.4 million revenue passenger miles, up 9.8 percent from 286.3 million a year ago. Available seat miles increased 8.1 percent to 489.0 million from 452.3 million. Load factor was 64.3 percent compared to 63.3 percent for the same period a year earlier. For the first ten months of 1991, Metro's continuing operations carried 1,343,971 passengers, up 5.4 percent from 1,275,421 a year ago.
Metro Airlines is a regional airline which operates as American Eagle, serving 25 cities from its Dallas/Fort Worth hub.
