Byline: Tere Marshall Daily News Staff Writer

Mervyn's California was honored for prominently featuring the disabled in its advertising campaigns at the An Affair of the Heart banquet hailing workers with disabilities and the employers who have given them the opportunity to show what they can accomplish.

Valencia resident Greg Doran, Mervyn's district team leader, accepted the Media Excellence Award on behalf of Mervyn's at a recent ceremony. Other distinguished Partners in Possibilities were honored by the Lincoln Training Center, a vocational skills and job placement organization.

Veteran television personality George Fischbeck Dr. George Fischbeck (born 1922) was a popular television weatherman on KOB-TV in Albuquerque, New Mexico from the mid 1960s to early 1970s. What began as a small workshop for a handful of workers has today become a thriving corporation, training, with pay, more than 400 disabled from throughout California annually and fulfilling production contracts for 150 national and international companies.

Lincoln programs include employment placement of qualified workers into jobs within their communities. Lincoln also has a production and manufacturing that is staffed by workers with disabilities. Here they also produce their own product - the LTC LTC
