MERRIMAC REVENUES BEST IN FIVE YEARS

 WEST CALDWELL, N.J., Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Merrimac Industries, Inc. (AMEX: MRM) reported today that shipments by the company in the first four weeks of its third quarter were $1,240,000, the highest monthly total in over five years. Merrimac expects this shipping growth to continue, resulting in an annual sales total in excess of $15 million which would be the highest since 1988. These figures confirm the Merrimac forecast of July 13 that Merrimac revenues will continue strong through the balance of 1993.
 Most significant is the restoration of strong profits anticipated to accompany this growth in revenues, and which occurred during the first half of 1993, as reported in the first and second quarterly reports.
 Merrimac Industries, Inc., is located in West Caldwell where it employs 120 persons in the manufacture of high performance components for communications,
defense and aerospace. In the year end results for


1992, Merrimac reported a net income of $369,843 from revenues of $12,444,624. Merrimac is listed as MRM on the American Stock Exchange.
