MERIDIAN RECEIVES FDA CLEARANCE TO MARKET NEW PARASITOLOGY PRODUCT

 CINCINNATI, Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Meridian Diagnostics, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: KITS) today announced that it had received permission from the FDA to begin marketing a new patented parasitology concentration and transportation system. The new product, which is tradenamed ParaPak Plus, represents an innovation in this product niche since the system not only preserves and transports stool specimens for parasitological examination but also performs the critical concentration procedure as well.
 There are approximately 10 million specimens examined for parasites annually in the United States. Meridian Diagnostics currently has a leading position in parasite preservation, transportation and identification systems.
