CAMARILLO Camarillo (kă'mərē`yō), city (1990 pop. 52,303), Ventura co., S Calif.; inc. 1964. Both entities are units of Textron Inc., a $11.6 billion global company based in Providence Providence, city (1990 pop. 160,728), state capital and seat of Providence co., NE R.I., a port at the head of Providence Bay; founded by Roger Williams 1636, inc. as a city 1832. , R.I., that operates in the aircraft, automotive, industrial and financial sectors.

Between 10 and 15 Datacom employees out of a work force of 60 will be transferring to Camarillo, said Dennis Horwitz, Rifocs' vice president of marketing and business development.

More workers will be hired, however, since Rifocs has been growing about 30 percent to 40 percent annually, he said.

Horwitz said the merger is driven by the convergence occurring within the communications marketplace.

``Bringing together the mutual Rifocs and Datacom experiences and capabilities only makes sense,'' he said.

A Datacom executive said the merger is a good fit for both units.
