MENTOR GRAPHICS, PERCEPTRONICS ANNOUNCE REMARKETING AGREEMENT FOR CACE CONCURRENT ENGINEERING SOFTWARE

WILSONVILLE, Ore., March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Mentor Graphics Corp. (NASDAQ: MENT) and Perceptronics Inc. (NASDAQ: PERC) (Woodland Hills, Calif.) today announced an agreement whereby Mentor Graphics will remarket Perceptronics' CACE/PM process modeling and simulation software worldwide.
"Through our strong partnerships worldwide, we've developed a great deal of concurrent engineering consulting expertise," stated Bud Suse, Mentor Graphics major accounts manager. "We plan to distribute Perceptronics' leading-edge CACE(R) software and provide customers with concurrent engineering consulting services and software for improving their overall product development environments and processes."
The agreement gives Mentor Graphics the right to market CACE/PM software worldwide on a non-exclusive basis through its North American sales offices, wholly owned European, Asian and South American subsidiaries, and selected distributors throughout the world.
"We are extremely pleased that Mentor Graphics has chosen to remarket CACE/PM as part of its growing involvement in concurrent engineering software and consulting services," said Dr. Gershon Weltman, Perceptronics chairman and chief executive officer. "Mentor Graphics is a highly respected company in the EDA field, and this agreement puts a commercial stamp of approval on our innovative CACE developments of the past years. We look forward to a productive relationship with Mentor Graphics, and to the possibility of significant product sales."
Product Development Time-To-Market and Competitive Advantage
CACE/PM software is designed to give EDA users the ability to model and simulate a variety of different product development processes in terms of schedules and timelines, budgets, resource requirements, resource utilization times and costs, and activity flows -- the elements essential for establishing an effective concurrent engineering strategy. Typical users are program managers, process analysts, and design automation engineers engaged in the product development lifecycle. CACE/PM's graphical modeling interface makes the software easy to learn and use without extensive modeling experience. CACE/PM software allows early detection of process flaws, eliminating costly fixes and retrofits, and significantly reducing overall production development time and cost.
Perceptronics is engaged in research and development, manufacturing and marketing of computer-based simulation software and systems for commercial and military decision support and training.
Mentor Graphics Corp., Wilsonville, was established in 1981 to design, manufacture, market and support electronic design automation (EDA) systems.
