But it was what the rest of the players did that made the difference.

Mike Efevberha scored 19 points and Calvin Chitwood added 17 to lead a balanced CSUN CSUN California State University Northridge  offense as the Matadors defeated the host Aggies 75-69 in a nonconference men's basketball game. Chitwood also grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.

The Matadors trailed by as many as six points in the first half, but tied the score at 30-30 on a 3-pointer by Efevberha and then took the lead on a 3-pointer by Altheimer on their way to a 37-32 halftime advantage.

The Aggies managed to tie the score at 37-37 early in the second half, but CSUN used an 8-0 run to make it 52-40 and later led by as many as 16 points. The Aggies trimmed the lead to four points at 73-69 with 23 seconds left but couldn't get any closer.
