USC has won meetings at the SoCal Tournament, NorCal Invitational, in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation is a college athletic conference whose member teams are located in the western United States. The conference participates in the NCAA's Division I.  regular-season play and at the MPSF MPSF Mountain Pacific Sports Federation  Tournament.

Harvard-Westlake of Studio City product Ted Zepfel, Brandon Child and Tommy Corcoran added goals for USC, which led 4-1 after the first quarter and 9-4 at halftime. Botond Szalma, Bogdan Petrovic and Mori Stern scored two goals apiece for the Terriers, making the school's first final-four appearance in any sport.

Marcello Pantuliano scored twice for Stanford, which pulled ahead 3-1 in the first quarter. The Lions rallied behind goaltender Ian Elliott (13 saves), Cutberto Hernandez and Endre Rex-Kiss (two goals apiece) and three goals on 6-on-5 advantages.

Brian McShane's goal with 4:29 to play pulled LMU within 7-6, and the Lions drew a Stanford ejection two minutes later but were unable to capitalize.
