MEMSIC Opens New Offices in Asia.

N. ANDOVER, Mass. -- MEMSIC Inc., a leading provider of CMOS-based MEMS (MicroElectroMechanical Systems) Tiny mechanical devices that are built onto semiconductor chips and are measured in micrometers. In the research labs since the 1980s, MEMS devices began to materialize as commercial products in the mid-1990s.  accelerometers/motion sensors, today announced it has opened branch offices in Tokyo, Japan and in Taipei, Taiwan. The company will open additional offices in Shanghai and in Shenzhen, mainland China for local customer support in Asia.

The consumer market demand for accelerometers is growing rapidly due to the advancement of technology and reduction in price. MEMSIC is leading the industry with targeted low cost accelerometers as the company expands its presence in Asia. Dr. Yang Zhao This article is about the Sui Dynasty crown prince. For the Tang Dynasty chancellor, see Yang Guozhong.

Yang Zhao (楊昭) (579-606), formally Crown Prince Yuande
, CEO/President, said, "We are very excited about the launch of these new offices in Asia. Our business is growing at an exceptional rate and we want to maintain our lead with proper local customer support. The recent opening of our Chicago Design Center and now new branch locations in Japan and Taiwan will help MEMSIC maintain its leadership in the industry and we look forward to supporting additional business opportunities in the region."

Low cost accelerometers for consumer applications have been an area of focus for MEMSIC. The company continues to win new businesses as the barrier to entry has been lowered for new market opportunities. Xin Liu, Asia Sales Director, said, "Our thermal accelerometer accelerometer

Instrument that measures acceleration. Because it is difficult to measure acceleration directly, the device measures the force exerted by restraints placed on a reference mass to hold its position fixed in an accelerating body.
technology allows MEMSIC to provide the lowest cost accelerometers in the industry with the highest reliability. As a result, MEMSIC has led the industry in cost reduction to open new markets for our customers. We will open two more offices in Shanghai and Shenzhen, mainland China within 3 months to provide local support to our customers as our market especially in China continues to expand." With the support of its regional sales group and distributors, MEMSIC expects to penetrate further into the low cost consumer market worldwide.

About MEMSIC, Inc.

MEMSIC, Inc. is a semi-fabless IC company that specializes in Micro Electric Mechanical Systems ICs. MEMSIC has developed and brought to market a unique CMOS based An integrated circuit fabricated using CMOS technology. Most logic chips and CPU chips have been CMOS based for some time. Even mainframes, which have used ultra-fast bipolar technology in the past, have given way to CMOS-based models.
