MELLON PSFS OFFERS REWARD IN CONNECTION WITH ROBBERY
PHILADELPHIA, May 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Mellon PSFS announced today that it is offering up to $50,000 in rewards for information that leads to the apprehension and conviction of the person or persons who robbed the Mellon PSFS branch at 3711-15 Germantown Ave. in Philadelphia on Friday, May 1.
During that incident, a gunman shot and critically injured assistant branch manager Vanessa Griswold and brutalized other branch staff. Griswold remains in Temple University Hospital, where her condition was upgraded over the weekend from "critical" to "fair."
"The entire Philadelphia community is outraged and saddened by this brutal crime," said Thomas F. Donovan, chairman and chief executive officer of Mellon PSFS. "At Mellon PSFS, our thoughts and prayers are with Vanessa, and, at the same time, we are working to bring the perpetrators of this act to justice. We are hopeful that the reward will help in that process."
Donovan noted that the branch that was robbed will remain closed today but will re-open for business Tuesday, May 5, at 9 a.m.
The Citizens Crime Commission of Delaware Valley will administer the reward. The commission is accepting calls on the robbery at 215-546-TIPS. Callers may remain anonymous. WPVI-TV will air a segment on the robbery Tuesday, May 5, on the "Crimefighters" segment of its newscast.
Mellon PSFS is part of Mellon Bank, N.A., the largest bank in Pennsylvania. Mellon PSFS serves the five-county retail and commercial market in Philadelphia with 111 offices providing a broad range of products and services to meet the financial needs of consumers and small and mid-sized businesses.
