 MEDTRONIC REASSIGNS TWO EXECUTIVES
 IN NEUROLOGICAL, INTERVENTIONAL VASCULAR BUSINESSES
 MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Medtronic, Inc., (NYSE: MDT) announced today that James G. Foster has been appointed vice president and general manager of its neurological implantable business and that Jon T. Tremmel will succeed him as head of Medtronic's interventional vascular business.
 Reporting to John A. Meslow, president of Medtronic's neurological businesses, Foster will manage the manufacturing, marketing and further development of the company's implantable spinal cord stimulation devices and drug administration systems. These operations are based in Minneapolis. Foster's appointment is effective May 1, 1992.
 Tremmel, vice president and general manager of the guiding catheter operations in Danvers, Mass., will take over responsibility for the interventional vascular business, based in San Diego. He will assume his new duties Feb. 1 and report to William W. George, Medtronic president and chief executive officer.
 "These assignments recognize the continuing growth potential of two key businesses as well as the accomplishments and capabilities of the executives involved," George said. "We are confident that they will maintain the momentum that is building market share for Medtronic and providing new therapeutic capabilities for its customers and their patients."
