MEDICAL CENTER HONORS ACTIVIST.

WOODLAND HILLS - Feting him for his commitment to charity and community, the Olive View-UCLA Medical Center Olive View-UCLA Medical Center is a hospital located in the Sylmar neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, USA. The hospital was founded on October 27, 1920, and is funded by Los Angeles County [1].  Foundation honored attorney and activist David W. Fleming with its annual Nelle Reagan Award on Friday.

The award is named after former president Ronald Reagan's mother, who volunteered at the hospital for over 15 years during the 1950s and '60s.

``This award is particularly special to me,'' Fleming said. ``I grew up 40 miles away from Nelle, and though I never met her, I feel like I share the Midwestern values that she had. And that cannot be too bad, since one of her children grew up to be the president.''

Fleming has donated over 45,000 hours and $3 million to various charities, including a $1 million gift to Valley Presbyterian Hospital Presbyterian Hospital can refer to several places:
  • New York-Presbyterian Hospital, a hospital in New York City
  • Presbyterian Hospital (Charlotte), a hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina
  • Presbyterian Hospital (Albuquerque), a hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico
, foundation officials said.

``We are thrilled to recognize the achievements of David Fleming,'' said Michael Reagan, the former president's son and representative for the Nelle Reagan Award.

``He is truly an outstanding man, and I believe that Nelle would have been proud to present the award herself.''

The Nelle Reagan award, established in 1986, was presented at a black-tie dinner at the Warner Center Marriott, where a silent auction was held to benefit the foundation.
