MEDICAL BOARD OF CALIFORNIA: LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL OFFICIALS CONDUCT JOINT STATEWIDE RAID IN SUSPECTED WORKER'S COMP SCAM

 SACRAMENTO, Calif., June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Dixon Arnett, executive director of the Medical Board of California, today announced that the board assisted the Department of Insurance/Bureau of Fraudulent Claims, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the Department of Health Services, the State Bar, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, and many county district attorneys in serving over 150 search warrants at doctors' offices, attorneys' offices and medical clinics statewide.
 "This 16-month, collaborative effort demonstrates the strong commitment of law enforcement at every level to crack down on workers' comp fraud that robs all Californians," said Arnett.
 The two-day operation began June 29, and involved almost 200 law enforcement personnel. Of primary focus in this investigation is Amerimed Medical Corp. Amerimed and other health care providers were served with warrants.
 This massive investigation is on-going, and further information cannot be released at this time at the request of the prosecuting attorney.
