Murdoch, who has been announcing transactions at a blistering pace recently, will be delivering one of the two keynote addresses set for the three-day Forbes CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Riordan ran for Governor of California unsuccessfully in 2002. will make a welcoming address before the speech by Murdoch, who has not disclosed the topic. The ``New Millennium'' conference is sponsored by Forbes magazine with the goal of bringing together top executives to discuss management and trade policy. Previous Forbes CEO Forums were held in Toronto and Annapolis, Md. The conference opened Wednesday with a tour of the Sony Imageworks digital film facility in Culver City Culver City, city (1990 pop. 38,793), Los Angeles co., S Calif., a residential suburb of Los Angeles; inc. 1917. It is a center of the U.S. motion-picture industry, whose roots in the city date to c.1915. Its chief manufactures are rubber products and computers. and a keynote address by 1996 Republican vice-presidential candidate Jack Kemp. Other speakers during the conference will include former Defense Secretary Casper Weinberger, author Peter Drucker, Netscape Communications Chairman James Clark, and former presidential candidates Steve Forbes and the Rev. Jesse Jackson. Murdoch's public appearances are infrequent, due partly to his 12-hour workdays and heavy amounts of air travel. |
