MECA Presents Harriet Tubman Meets Sojourner Truth.Entertainment Editors/Feature Editors HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 3, 2004 On Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004 at 7:30 p.m., MECA MECA Maine College of Art MECA Middle East Children's Alliance MECA Manufacturers of Emission Controls Association (Washington, DC) MECA Marriage Equality California MECA Mars Environmental Compatibility Assessment will celebrate Black Heritage Month with a powerful performance of two influential and compelling black women. Brought to MECA by Flying Geese geese domestic geese which were derived from the wild goose Anser anser. There are many other species in this genus and in the other genus of geese, the Branta spp. of which Branta canadensis is typical. Productions, Harriet Tubman Meets Sojourner Truth Sojourner Truth: see Truth, Sojourner. tells the story of the meeting of Sojourner Truth and Harriet Tubman as they discuss some similarities in today's society and as they were in their time. Multimedia and music will be utilized to show how the lives of both these women were so parallel. Another thread that runs deeply through the presentation is the importance of reading, and book donations are greatly appreciated. Melissa Waddy-Thibodeaux, professional historical re-enactor, will portray por·tray tr.v. por·trayed, por·tray·ing, por·trays 1. To depict or represent pictorially; make a picture of. 2. To depict or describe in words. 3. To represent dramatically, as on the stage. Harriet Tubman while Gayle Abbs will represent the role of Sojourner Truth. Both Ms. Waddy-Thibodeaux and Ms. Abbs are native Houstonians. Tickets are available for $5.00 per person.
