MECA Day of the Dead Festival: Honoring our Past, Celebrating our Future; Celebrate 26 Years of Multicultural Education in Houston.

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 19, 2003


WHAT:  Multicultural Education and Counseling through the Arts (MECA)
       will celebrate its 26th anniversary of continued community
       service to Houston with MECA Day of the Dead Festival: Honoring
       our Past, Celebrating our Future. Dia de los Muertos
       festivities will feature traditional celebrations from Latin
       America, with an altar exhibit competition, memorial labyrinth,
       procession choreographed by Hester Martinez Nardea, auction,
       foods from Latin American countries (elote, tostadas, tortas,
       and quesadillas), and vendors selling authentic Latin American
       Dia de los Muertos arts and crafts. The festival will truly be
       a community cultural event celebrating our ancestors and Latin
       American traditions.

       11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
