 is hosting its annual Valentine's Day Viva el Amor concert, where the world-renowned Mariachi MECA will perform a variety of heart-wrenching romantic selections ranging from the mild to wild.

The concert is Friday, February 9, 8:00 p.m. at MECA, 1900 Kane Street.

This year's concert uniquely presents traditional works of Mexican artists Famous Mexican artists (in alphabetical order):
  • Manuel Alvarez Bravo (1902-2004)
  • Carlos Amorales (1970-)
  • Luis Barragán (1902-1988)
  • Jose Baray (1942-)
  • Feliciano Béjar (1920-2007)
  • Arnold Belkin (1930-1992)
  • Francisco Castro Leñero (1955-)
 Juan Gabriel alongside new arrangements by Houston mariachi artist Sergio Sanchez of music by The Beatles, Foreigner, and Queen.

Proceeds from this concert will be used to fund MECA's Mariachi program.

Tickets are $5.00 per person pre-order or $7.50 at the door, and can be purchased at www.Ticketweb.com or by calling 866-468-7621.
