Security Industry Association (SIA) Award

The Security Industry Association announced on Thursday, April 6, 2006, that MDI has been awarded the 2006 Product Achievement Award for Integrated Systems for its C2OS(TM) Open Architecture Command and Control Operating System.

SIA's panel of judges chose the ONE Platform over all other entrants in the 2006 New Products Showcase program held in Las Vegas at ISC West.

Asset Protection Executive (APE) Award

In a separate announcement, Asset Protection Executive Magazine awarded MDI the 2006 Technology Innovation Award for its ONE Platform in combination with the ASL technology.

Future Demand for Integrated Security Systems

Over the past several years, there has been a major shift towards integrating access control systems into the total security system. In its 2005 Security Industry Annual Report, Lehman Brothers states that 50 percent of all access control systems are being installed as part of an integrated security system, which are projected to provide 10 percent industry growth levels for the next two years, fueled by upgrades and homeland security initiatives.
