MDDS Apres MDR/AVTR.
In synergy with our intelligence sourcing article It's not
what You do, it's how you do it in this issue, Teac offers an
upgrade to standard mission debriefing with its PC-based digital Mission
Data Debrief Software (MDDS) system, which provides automatic
synchronised playback control of digital Mpeg-2 audio/video files. The
software can replay up to eight video files in a synchronised,
multi-window environment on dual XGA monitors (single screen interface
is also an option but only four images are viewable), using Flir, Hud,
radar, night vision, MFD/DDI or RWR-captured information. Multiple image
and data segments are easily exported for transmitting over a network or
via e-mail. For complete interoperability, Teac recommends its Digital
Debrief Station (DDS)--a ruggedised, portable, application-specific PC
sporting an 18-inch LCD display and attached keyboard. The DDS features
a Removable Memory Module Interface Unit that connects to either the
MDR-80 or Teac's newer MDR-87 mission data recorders. The Chilean
Air Force is the latest service to select Teac's MDR-87 (along with
the MDDS system) for its new F-16 C/D aircraft fleet.
